Welcome to the research group of  Dr. Hessam Babaee!

The research areas of interest to Babaee Lab are at the interface of scientific computing and machine learning. The central thrust of our lab is to extract and exploit various correlations from physics-based models as well as large-scale datasets for predictive and diagnostic purposes.  In particular, we develop data-driven and model-driven reduced-order model (ROM) techniques to reduce the computational cost of solving a variety of problems. These problems include uncertainty quantification, high-dimensional sensitivity analysis, passive and reactive species transport, and high-dimensional probability density function transport equations that arise in a number of scientific and engineering problems. We focus on a diverse set of applications from fluid dynamics and bioengineering to ocean engineering.
